Poetry for The Soul

Faithful Incest

Before making me his wife,

I became the daughter he first knew.

The first and only one who wore his name as a crown.

I could tell that I was destined for greatness,

As only I could have renowned the man who once carried me on his back.

Controversy

You could not resist. You couldn’t

Resist the body that made you sin.

The body that made you crave your own skin. The skin

That if it’s touched, you are barred from life.

But how is the skin a source of sin,

When we are all born with

It.
